After raising more than $8000 for the Kids Heart Challenge, kindergarteners at Prairie Trails were rewarded with a visit from RTMS students. The middle schoolers led several fun activities and made it a day to remember.
The Kids Heart Challenge is an annual event held at schools all across the country. Sponsored by the American Heart Association, it helps students improve their own health through physical activity while raising life-saving donations for kids facing heart issues.
As a new school, this was the first year that Prairie Trails participated in the challenge. Kindergarteners and their families raised $8,372 after setting a goal of $2,000. The visit from the Ravens Leaders was an opportunity for the district's youngest and oldest learners to interact while celebrating all the hard work that has gone into raising money.
