Summer Enrichment Camps 2025
Who: Open to incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who attend River Trails Middle School
When: 9AM-12:00 PM Monday - Friday
- Session 1: Monday, June 23 - Friday, June 27
- Session 2: Monday, July 14 - Friday, July 18
- Session 3: Monday, August 4 - Friday, August 8
Where: River Trails Middle School; 1000 N. Wolf Rd., Mt. Prospect
Cost: $40 per Session
Sign-Up: Registration is OPEN until April 30, 2025. Invoices will be sent 5/5/25 and must be paid via your child’s PushCoin Wallet by 5/15/25 to hold your child’s place in camp.
Course Descriptions
All About Nature
Will examine different plants and animals. Some ideas include building birdhouses, studying natural habitats, and caring for classroom pets. Pets may include a Leopard Gecko, Crested gecko, Bearded dragon, Tortoise and Turtle.

Cooking & Gardening Camp
All incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students are welcome to join the River Trails School District's Cooking and Gardening summer camp. Students will work in the garden, create garden crafts, and learn basic cooking skills while having fun and making new friends. Each day will include gardening followed by cooking a new recipe.

Crypto Class
Ever want to share information secretly? Crypto Class teaches how to create and break secret codes and ciphers. Students will develop problem-solving and reasoning skills through games and activities, learning historical and modern approaches to cryptology.

Creative Writing
Explore the world of creative writing and develop your unique author voice. Students will dive into various genres, engage in collaborative writing activities, and grow their storytelling skills. Each student will create a portfolio of original work by the end of the week.

Creative Typography: Exploring Fonts in Art
Dive into the world of typography and art by studying famous artists like Robert Indiana and Jasper Johns. Create vibrant paintings, design 3D graffiti fences, and make layered text drawings inspired by iconic styles.

The Art of 3D Creation
Embark on an adventure into 3D art! Students will create clay coil vessels, self-expression sculptures, and experiment with foam inspired by Jean Arp to bring creative ideas to life.

Boundless Creativity: The Art of Altering Books
Dive into the world of book art! Students will bind their own sketchbooks, transform books into 3D sculptures, learn paper-making techniques, and create comic strips or books.

Camp Raven Session 1 – Indoor: Volleyball
Focus on volleyball skills and techniques through drills and scrimmages. All students and skill levels are welcome.

Students will improve basketball skills through structured drills and scrimmages. Open to all skill levels.

Experience a week of fun, fitness, and friendly competition! Activities include a mix of sports, PE-style games, and strength and conditioning exercises tailored for middle schoolers.

Focus on football skills, drills, and scrimmages. All students and skill levels are welcome.
