Both the girls and boys cross country teams finished in the top 10 at this weekend's state meet in Normal, Illinois, after qualifying for the event for the second year in a row.
The girls team came away with a 7th place finish in the Class 2A team competition, including five runners in the top 60. The boys were 10th in the team results, with three runners in the top 100. Both teams improved on last year's state meet results, when the girls finished 12th and the boys were 22nd.
This was the second consecutive year with both River Trails teams qualifying for the state meet. More than 20 teams and 200 runners competed in the annual event.
