The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included Board of Education meeting minutes, payroll, bills and checks, personnel report which included the hiring of Mrs.Tara Nunes as the RTMS Assistant Principal , Treasurer’s Resolution, District Goals, and North Cook Regional Office of Education/Intermediate Service Center IGA for 24/25
- Board Communications discussed recent events, including thanking everyone who put together graduation and end of the year ceremonies, as well as the end of the year bash at Euclid, and the living green expo at Grace Lutheran Church
- District recognition discussed Nania Energy Advisors planting trees to offset the energy usage on the District’s behalf
- RTEA Comments were given by Mr.Bob Kastner
- In New Business of Educational Services:
- Dr.Carie Cohen presented on the need for additional staffing for student support at Indian Grove and Prairie Trails, and Dr. Megerle gave the rationale for hiring a new Business Services Assistant
- The District & Building End of Year Report was given by the school principals and members of administration
- Mrs. Kristy Siefert gave information about the Middle School Math Adoption of Illustrative Mathematics, which was approved by the board.
- Business Services discussed Renew America’s School Grant, and the Board voted to join the group of school districts to apply for the grant
- Committee reports were given for the Policy Committee, who voted to approve press packet 114, and the Operations Committee gave an update on construction projects throughout the district
- The President’s report talked about the upcoming soccer pitch soft opening on 6/15, and the upcoming board meetings
- Superintendent’s report included:
- discussion on Strategic Planning Process
- And a Board communications review
