The River Trails School District 26 Board of Education held a meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at River Trails Middle School. A full recording of the meeting is available for viewing on our YouTube page.
Here are the highlights:
- The board voted on and approved the consent agenda, which included Board of Education meeting minutes, payroll, bills and checks, and personnel report.
- Board Communication discussed recent events, including the summer school program, the soccer pitch soft opening, and ISBE Board Presidents Academy
- District recognition showcased:
- The RTMS Track Team, including Jordan Patterson, who placed first in 3A 7th Grade Girls 400 Meter Dash at the IESA State Track Meet
- Trees that were planted on behalf of the School Board Members and in honor of Dr. Lyndl Schuster’s retirement
- RTEA Comments were given by Mr. Zachary Scipione
- Business Services discussed a construction update, and information about middle school classroom furniture
- The Finance Committee gave a fiscal year 2025 budget overview
- The Operations Committee gave information on hiring IMEG for Euclid Commissioning, the purchasing of a Microgrid and Solar Panels, and the Indian Grove Infrastructure Cost Estimate, all of which were approved
- Mr. Rognstad gave the NSSEO update, which discussed updates on strategic planning and board reorganization
- The President’s report talked about upcoming events, including district office holiday schedule and the July 9 board meeting
- Superintendent’s report highlighted Summer School, Middle School camps
